Assembly of River Beings

Assembly of River Beings

A creative exploration of how we might give voice to and speak on behalf of the species of the river Exe.

Be part of shaping a new rights-based River Covenant for the Exe.

I love the river and nature, how can I take part?

If other other beings who live in, on or near the River Exe could communicate with us what would they say about what they need to flourish and what challenges they have today? As a species participant you will take part in a workshop where you will be supported by wildlife experts, artists and facilitators to learn more about your being and how you might want to share their world with others. In the Assembly you will have the chance to communicate your thoughts and feelings in a friendly and supported environment and help change how we think about river, its importance and value for all of us.

Take part as a species by attending one workshop on  Saturday 21 Sept and the assembly on 22 September: sign up here

I am interested in the Assembly, how do I get involved?

Assembly’s involve people coming together for a particular purpose, in this case to explore how we can be better guardians of the River Exe and how we can integrate the perspectives of other beings in our thinking, governance and decision making. You can attend the Assembly as a human witness (places are limited so please book). Your role is important in listening to and reflecting on what is communicated by the species participants and working out the next steps to ensure that the river is cared for all species and future generations.

Take part as a witness in the Assembly on Sunday 22 September: sign up here

Devised by Tidelines and Friends of the River Exe, with Lucy Neal (writer), Shelley Castle, Ione Maria Rojas and Ruth Webb (artists) Paul Powlesland (Lawyers for Nature), Devon Wildlife Trust and hosted by Art Work Exeter. Funded by LUSH.
