Art Work Exeter present: A Currency Exchange / Artists Making Money

Art Work Exeter present: A Currency Exchange / Artists Making Money

As part of their Spring 2024 programme called The Exchange, Art Work Exeter have partnered up with
Inky Fingers Workshop/ Collage Club to present a two hour workshop.

This Collage Club event consists of a short presentation looking at examples of money being made, remade, reworked and detourned by artists around the world. Followed by a collage workshop using international banknotes (including Exeter Pound £4.50 notes – which feature the Quay), images of money, colours, shapes and patterns, illustrations of people, places and things.

Materials and equipment are provided and participants are also welcome to bring materials to augment their work (images of people who they think should be on a bank note, for instance) as well as any specific tools (knives, cutting mats) that they wish to use.

Collage Club is an evening, hands-on artist-led craft and social space – learn new techniques, styles and approaches in a stimulating, safe and social workshop environment, with cups of tea. Each workshop is themed, with specific materials provided, we often look at the work of other collage artists and discuss ways of developing our own practices.
