Britannia’s Birthday Celebration

The Britannia Sailing Trust are celebrating the 109th anniversary of the launch of sailing smack Britannia with a day of fun events and activities.

The boat is a centenarian East Coast Smack – the last functional example of her class. She was recently relaunched in Exeter after a 10-year restoration by volunteers,

The event will include:

Ship tours

Demos and workshops of traditional maritime skills!

Sea shanties galore!

Souvenirs and nauticalia for sale, including vintage marine charts

Whether you’re just curious to see the ship or even thinking of volunteering on Britannia’s restoration, all are welcome. Come along, have a chat with the crew, and find out what Britannia is all about – welcoming people!
