Exhibition: The Exchange

Open daily for sales, swaps and barters

Our Cultural Partners at Art Work Exeter have created an interactive exhibition of artwork and artistic process inspired by the histories of trade and negotiation at Exeter Custom House. The results of five exchanges between 29 South West-based artists and writers have been assembled and displayed across the top floor of the Custom House. The exhibition is open daily and free to visit.

About The Exchange

Art Work Exeter’s spring 24 programme at Exeter Custom House is a playful exploration of the value of artistic labour, collaboration and object production through image, word and conversation. Inspired by the histories and materialities of trade in the building, they have offered six opportunities for sales, barters, swaps and deals to be negotiated between artists, writers and Custom House visitors across February, March and April.

The residues and ephemera from these activities and performances are assembled across the top floor of the Custom House for exhibition and trade with visitors 28th March – 14th April.
