Tales of the Land and Songs of the Sea

Join Jon Bell and The Custom House Crew to learn about Exeter’s maritime history through a stories, songs, music and pictures.
This talk gives a lively introduction to Exeter’s maritime history.
Archive photographs, music and song accompany stories about people and events that shaped Exeter’s ‘heritage harbour.’ In 1700, the port and its canal was considered the fourth most important in the country. Now it might justly be described as ‘Exeter’s lost route to the sea.’
The presenter will be Jon Bell, who is both an Exeter Redcoat Guide and chair of Exeter Heritage Harbour Group.
Tickets are free but registration (top right) is essential. The talks are here at the Exeter Custom House and start at 2pm.
