Join us for a series of engaging workshops and events exploring the relationship between Exeter’s historic quayside and the city centre.
The programme will include expert keynote speakers, guided fact-finding, opportunities to learn about the area’s rich history and explore possible futures for this important part of Exeter. Participants will take part in group discussions, receive support to present their ideas through a variety of media, contribute to the creation of a public exhibition, and, most importantly, have the opportunity to share their voice.
The challenges facing the connection between Exeter’s historic harbour and the city are not limited to crossing a busy dual carriageway or walking safely through an unsupervised area at night. There are also less obvious and less tangible barriers, including public and private transport links, visibility, lost cultural and heritage connections, reputation, space management, wayfinding, accessibility, topography and information.
Together, we want to identify innovative opportunities, challenge embedded assumptions and explore radical solutions.
